The Southeast Asian-American Professionals Association (SEA-APA) was established on January 30, 2001 by a group of professionals in Merced County. SEA-APA advocates as a
unified voice supporting education and cultural preservation for Southeast Asian-Americans. SEA-APA accomplishes this purpose through the coordination of networking opportunities, community events, and support programs.
Since 2001, SEA-APA has raised and awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to hundreds of Southeast Asian-American high school seniors in Merced and Stanislaus Counties to promote and support them to pursue higher education.
In 2006, SEA-APA established a project to give hundreds of gifts to Southeast Asian-American children during the Hmong New Year celebrations.
SEA-APA coordinates an annual holiday banquet for Southeast Asian-American businesses and working individuals to network with each other. This event is attended by professionals from all over the state.
SEA-APA is a membership association. Membership is open to business owners or working individuals. Members meet quarterly to network and share ideas. Members have the opportunity to serve on the board of directors, standing committees, and volunteer at events. Annual membership due is $25 per person.
